Garlic Mashed Potatoes

So it’s been a while since I posted something. So here’s an easy go to side dish, Garlic Mashed Potatoes. It’s a great go to and a great way to use those potatoes that you have lying around.  You can use any type of potato you desire.  I used colorful fingerling potatoes because those are my go to.  socialfood_garlicmashpotatoes2

  • 2 pounds of potatoes
  • 2 garlic cloves, halved
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp of sour cream

1. Place potatoes and garlic in a medium saucepan; cover with cold water. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat, and simmer 12 minutes or until potatoes are very tender.
2. Drain and return potato mixture (potatoes and garlic) to pan. Add milk, 1 tablespoon butter, 1 tablespoon of sour cream, salt, and black pepper; mash with a potato masher to desired consistency.
3. Serve and enjoy

Note: I did not peel the potatoes but you can if you prefer it that way.
